NHS Heroes is an opportunity for patients, their families and carers, to nominate and celebrate the staff members and teams who show exceptional compassion, kindness and skill above and beyond the call of everyday duty – giving healthcare at its very best.
The website on which to make nominations is www.nhsheroes.com
Every verified nominee will receive an NHS Heroes certificate, signed by NHS Chief Executive David Nicholson.
Those NHS Heroes nominated from Weston General Hospital and Community Children's Services will receive their certificates during the Trust's Annual Public Meeting at 7.30pm on Monday, September 17, in the hospital's Academy Building.
All members of the public are welcome at this meeting.
Alison Kingscott, Director of Human Resources at Weston Area Health NHS Trust, said: "The overall theme of NHS Heroes is one of celebration.
"NHS staff in Weston do amazing things every day – it is their job to save lives and care for people through the most difficult times, and that mission is the same whether they are working on the front line or behind the scenes.
"We hope the national NHS Heroes initiative will complement our existing PRIDE staff recognition scheme and bring national attention to our local healthcare heroes, who mean so much to the people we serve.
"Please do nominate someone special you know in the NHS today."
Nominations close on Friday, September 14.
