Apple Trees Planted at Hospital by Waitrose Partners

Home

Waitrose staff members planted the young trees as part of a newly-launched Partner Volunteering scheme.

Partners (as staff are called at Waitrose) at Weston are involved in the local community and have already donated more than £1,000 worth of trees to local good causes.
The staff are also encouraged to donate 250 hours of their working time to community initiatives.
Weston Area Health NHS Trust Chairman Chris Creswick said: "We would like to thank the Partners at Waitrose for their generosity and for thinking of the Hospital and its patients, who will benefit from the trees as they grow over the years to come."

The trees, which have been planted at the front of the Hospital, are all English apple varieties - Red Devils, Scrumptious and Coxes Pippins - and were cultivated locally.
