On the 24 October 2014 the CQC released a new banding rank of the 161 acute Trusts in the hospital with band 1 being lowest and band 6 being highest. Weston Area Health NHS Trust received a band 2 and in a statement from the Trust it says:
Delivering high standards of patient care is our absolute priority at Weston. Having recognised that in the past we weren’t always achieving this, a programme of improvements and investments across the Trust have been put in place. Although we are disappointed that our banding is low, some of it is based on historic data. And so we look forward to welcoming the CQC back to Weston General so they can see the improvements we’ve already made and support us in making more changes so that we can deliver the standard of care the community of North Somerset deserve.
