The volunteer broadcasters and journalists were recognised in the "Best Speech Package" category for their programme about the Weston Helicopter Museum.

The National Hospital Radio Awards is an annual celebration of the excellent standards found in hospital radio stations across the country, and with over 200 individual member stations the entries were subjected to a rigorous judging process by a national panel of industry experts and NHS staff.
The award ceremony took place during a gala dinner which was held at the Marriott Hotel in Bristol.

Sunshine Hospital Radio volunteers Laura Tremelling and Marcus Tripp, who put together the programme, were delighted with the result.

Laura said: "I am thrilled that Sunshine Radio took silver, especially considering it was such a strong category. The award is testament to the dedication of the team and our commitment to providing top quality shows for the patients. It also highlights the Helicopter Museum, which is such an asset to Weston-super-Mare.'"

Marcus added "Laura and I had great fun putting the programme together, and we'd like to thank everyne at the Helicopter Museum for their help. We'd also like to congratulate Radio Brockley who won Gold with a wonderful programme about the Royal visit to their Children's Ward."

The judges commented on the entry from Sunshine Hospital Radio saying: "We found this entry amusing, informative and entertaining. We thought there was good interaction by all involved, bringing to life this most unusual of museums."
