Home

On Saturday 16 August a patient presented for treatment at Weston General Hospital’s Emergency Department, which due to their symptoms and recent travel history triggered an alert for the Ebola virus.

The patient was immediately quarantined and the Ebola infection management protocol put in place. The patient was thoroughly assessed and found not to have Ebola, after which the department returned to normal.

The full incident lasted about an hour.
