The first Annual Public Meeting of North Somerset’s local health commissioners will be accompanied by a special event particularly aimed at anyone managing a long-term medical condition, with national charities confirmed to attend.
Stands from organisations such as the British Lung Foundation and the British Heart Foundation will provide visitors a chance to find out more about how they can make the most of their health. Local groups for Parkinson’s and diabetes are also taking stands, and looking forward to meeting local people and helping them get the support they need.
Leading doctors and nurses representing North Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group will also be passing on their expert knowledge about this area of health, and how care for long term conditions is likely to evolve within the NHS.
Chairman of the Clinical Commissioning Group Kathy Headdon said: “We’ve arranged an engaging and informative event to accompany our Annual Public Meeting, which will only be a brief element of the evening.
“Anyone with an interest in the current and future NHS should attend to hear our clinical leaders’ thoughts and find out more about the role played by the Clinical Commissioning Group.
“Everyone is welcome and they will find out more about our plans and initiatives, how they can shape decisions about the way NHS care is provided in North Somerset and put questions directly to local NHS leaders.”
The first set of accounts and annual report will be presented at the meeting. This document is already published on the Clinical Commissioning Group website and some copies will be available at the meeting.
This Autumn Stakeholder Event and Annual Public Meeting is being held in Nailsea at the Methodist Church in Silver Street on Thursday 25 September from 6pm.
To help the CCG manage the space, anyone planning to attend is asked to register in advance by visiting the events page of the CCG website www.northsomersetccg.nhs.uk and clicking on the event title, or by calling 01275 885536.
