A spokesperson for WAHT said: "The decision to temporarily use beds in our midwife led maternity unit was an extremely difficult one, but three of our wards were closed to Norovirus meaning we lost almost a third of our hospital beds over the very busy holiday weekend. We would like to offer our sincere apologies to any women affected by this and who were referred to St Michael's in Bristol instead. We are pleased to say that on 9am Tuesday 6 January we resumed accepting maternity admissions and women who are booked in with us are able to have their babies at Weston.
