Trust recruits Medical Director in latest high level appointment

Dr Lyons will start his role immediately, overseeing the management of the Trust’s consultant body as well as doctors in training.

A GP by training, Dr Lyons will also spend some of his time in the primary care environment, establishing vital contacts with the Trust’s GP groups as it continues to encourage closer working relationships with regional healthcare providers.

Speaking on his appointment, Dr Lyons said: “I’m really happy to be joining the team at Weston. This is a fantastic opportunity to help progress the Trust’s vision of shaping healthcare to respond to the changing needs of our patients.

“Another key area will be improving outcomes for patients as well as forging closer links with our health and social care partners across Weston and North Somerset.”
