Weston Area Health NHS Trust has made two new appointments to its Board.

Frank Powell and Rosalinde Wyke join the Trust, which runs Weston General Hospital, as Non-Executive Directors.

It’s the latest in a series of high level appointments by the busy Trust, who recently announced the permanent appointments of  James Rimmer and Grahame Paine as Chief Executive and Chairman respectively, and Dr Nick Lyons and Helen Richardson as the Trust’s new Medical Director and Director of Nursing.

Frank Powell has had a wide ranging career within the NHS, including a role as Chief Nurse for health services in Hertfordshire.

Rosalinde Wyke joins the Board with a wealth of senior management experience within the international finance and business information industry, working with community organisations and was the former chairman of Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

Speaking on the appointment, Rosalinde Wyke said: “Weston General Hospital and the Trust is vital to Weston and the wider community providing key local health services.

“I’m delighted to be joining the Trust’s Board – it’s an important time as we review how we deliver services to our patients, whilst maintaining focus on patient safety and improving our patients’ experience of care.”

Frank Powell adds: “This is a very exciting time for the Trust. Like many others in the NHS, it is undergoing changes and I believe the end result will really benefit the people of Weston and North Somerset. I’m pleased to be joining the Board and working to support that transformation.”

Trust Chairman, Grahame Paine, said: “I am delighted that we have attracted Ros and Frank to work with us as we move from the recent uncertain period for the Trust to working closely with all local NHS partners to provide safe and effective services for patients in North Somerset – it’s another positive step forward for our Trust.

“Ros and Frank bring with them significant experience of acute hospitals, local government and a clinical background which will bolster our overall expertise. I look forward to the fresh input that our new directors will bring.”
