Commenting on the awards, Sheridan Flavin, Director of Human Resources, said:  “Staff and volunteers are the backbone of the NHS – without them the NHS simply wouldn’t exist.

“We really appreciate the hard work and dedication of everyone at Weston. So we organised this very special evening to take the time out to thank them and give them the recognition they deserve.

“There are some inspirational and quite moving stories of the lengths people go to when caring for patients and helping colleagues. Tonight is their night where we celebrate the huge contribution they make to people’s lives.”

Trust Chief Executive, James Rimmer, added: “Undoubtedly the NHS has faced one of its most challenging years. Nevertheless, in the face of that, our staff continue to do quite incredible things that profoundly impact on people's lives.

“I’m incredibly proud of the staff we have here at Weston. They are talented, hardworking and motivated to make a difference, every day. These staff awards are our way of recognising and thanking those that go the extra mile to provide patients with outstanding care.”
