New branding unveiled at Weston General for Scanner Appeal

Some impressive adverts have been unveiled today at Weston General Hospital and will be seen by the hundreds of thousands of people who visit every year.

The signs, displayed in multiple positions around the Trust, aim to generate maximum awareness of the ‘Scanner Appeal’ – a recent initiative to raise donations for new scanning equipment at Weston General Hospital.

The Trust that runs Weston General, and the League of Friends, a charity that raises funds for projects around the hospital, are working together to raise £400,000 for new digital scanning equipment.

The equipment will provide a range of benefits to patients and dramatically cut down on waiting times and travel.

The campaign has been launched this year as part of the League of Friends’ 60th anniversary celebrations.

June Stephen, Chairman of the League of Friends, said: “I’m really pleased with the branding – it will make sure that visitors to the hospital know about the Scanner Appeal, the intention behind the campaign and how they can support it.

“This is an ambitious campaign which aims to raise more than £400,000 for new digital scanning equipment at Weston General Hospital. Having these adverts displayed so prominently around the Trust will help us to generate further interest in the appeal and reach our target sooner.”

Trust Chief Executive, James Rimmer, added: "We believe our new branding will help to make the public even more aware of this important campaign. Public support is essential to help us hit our target and to make sure that Weston’s services continue to meet the changing needs of the growing community in Weston and North Somerset.”

June adds: “This appeal is for the people of Weston and the surrounding areas. New digital scanning equipment will mean people can access treatment locally, rather than needing to travel to Bristol or Taunton. That’s hugely beneficial, especially for older people who might find travelling to be more difficult.”

The high quality signs were produced by locally-based company Print Factor, a specialist in printing, signage and vehicle livery.

Should you wish to support the appeal, please enclose a donation marked ‘scanner appeal’ and send to League of Friends at Weston General Hospital. You can also donate directly, via the League of Friends shop which is located inside the hospital, or by texting SCAN16 and the amount to 70070.
