Weston General Hospital to celebrate AHP Day

Home

Ever wondered what Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) do? Come and hear a range of exciting short talks from some of our professionals working at Weston General Hospital. You can hear from physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, dieticians, and radiologists, in celebration of the first ever AHP appreciation day.

AHP Day developed from an idea that was born on a bus journey home from work back in April. Discussion took place on Twitter between two allied health professionals who work at the Royal Cornwall Hospital and Cornwall Foundation Trust, interest and support grew, a logo was developed and a date picked.

The basic idea is to invite AHPs across the country to join in and do something that is important and meaningful to mark the day – which is why at Weston we want to share information about what our AHPs do.

The AHP Day event is open to the public, including sixth-form students considering a career in healthcare, and takes place in the physiotherapy gym at Weston General Hospital from 5-6pm on Monday 15 October 2018.
