Roger was Head of Policing for North Somerset and worked closely with the local authority and other partner organisations on developing neighbourhood services, prior to his retirement in 2003.
He is currently Vice Chair of Arcadia Housing Group, one of the largest providers of social housing in North Somerset.
Roger is a graduate of both the University of Warwick and the University of the West of England. He has a Masters degree in Marketing and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He has worked in a senior position in corporate communications.
Roger will be paid remuneration of £6,096 per annum.
This appointment has been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments’ Code of Practice.
All Non-Executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity (if any declared) to be made public.
Roger does not hold any other ministerial appointments and neither has he undertaken any political activity in the last five years.
