Peter has been Chief Executive of the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust since early 2009, stabilising it during a period of great challenge and also achieving major progress.
Prior to that, Peter was Chief Executive of Torbay Care Trust, a pioneering NHS organisation bringing together community health services and adult social care, with considerable benefits to patients. He has worked in the NHS for more than 20 years and has previously held Chief Executive positions in Health Authorities in Devon and Gloucestershire.
Peter Colclough said: “I am very pleased to be moving to Weston Area Health NHS Trust as Interim Chief Executive to lead the acute services organisation and to work with partners in the area to develop more integrated health and social care services that meet the needs of patients.
“It builds on my experience of delivering one of the first truly integrated health and social care services when I was in Torbay.”
Trust Chairman Chris Creswick said: “I am delighted that Peter is able to join us at this time. The Trust has made real progress on many fronts under Lorene Read’s leadership in recent years. We are looking now to build on that progress to meet the needs of patients in a changing NHS.
“I am sure Peter’s experience and skills will help us to ensure that the acute hospital services we provide from Weston make the best possible use of the skills of our staff in providing high quality care, working closely with their fellow health and care professionals across our community.”
