I am a chartered librarian with over 14 years’ experience. I have worked in a variety of library sectors such as Academic, Corporate, and Government. I have spent the last 9 ½ years working in the NHS. My role involves acting as the professional lead for e-learning within the trust. I manage the operation of the Healthcare Library including budget management, staff management and development of library services. I also have the responsibility of overseeing collection management and ensures that library resources met the needs of the organisation
My hours are Monday -Friday - 8.00am-4.00pm

I joined the trust relatively recently, in October of 2014, in the capacity of Librarian in order to help manage the library staff and service. My day to day role is quite varied but in general I conduct literature searches, give database instruction, catalogue, and welcome new staff members by providing library inductions. Additionally, I help users who are having trouble with the ESR system to complete their training. I also manage our two library assistants, Jo and Sue.
Although I am new to the NHS my background is very health sciences focused as I have sought out positions at medical libraries and hospitals since completing my Masters of library and Information Studies in 2011.
My hours are Monday -Friday - 9.00am-5.00pm

I have worked at the Trust for over 12 years starting as a ward clerk in 2004. In 2007, I moved to Staff Services, working in Recruitment and Advertising, work experience and maternity leave. In 2010-2011, I went on a secondment to the Smart card project. Part of my job, with a colleague, was to photograph every member of the Trust in order to produce the cards. At the end of the project I returned to Staff Services and then in 2012-2014 I moved to e-rostering which meant I caught up with many of the staff who I’d met as a ward clerk and producing the Smart cards.
I have been with the Library since March 2015 which I am enjoying very much. It’s very new to me so every day I learn something new but I like the interaction with all the staff who visit the library, helping them with e-learning and article requests. It’s nice to see familiar faces in the Library but also good to meet new staff.
I job share with Jo Richardson and I work:
Monday -Wednesday -8.30am -4.30pm

Library Assistant

I have worked in the Trust for 15 years, performing a number of roles from Ward Clerk to Outpatient Reception. Now working in the Library since 2010, I am responsible for helping all members of staff who visit the library. This can include searching for books and articles, assistance with ESR and online training, plus dealing with interlibrary loan requests from our network of libraries that span the country.
I am currently the main “Roving Librarian” and visit external departments such as Drove Road on a weekly basis, bringing the library services to those who work off site.
I job share my post with Sue Stott and my hours of work are:
Thursday-Friday 9.00am-5.00pm
