What role does your department play in the Trust? We play a huge part in the Trust as we move everyone and everything and without us the hospital would not operate. We transfer patients between departments on beds or wheelchairs, move medical equipment such as oxygen cylinders from the stores to the ward and we're even on hand with the 'crash' trolley if there's a medical emergency in one of the public areas. What do you see as the key achievements for the department?
Our aim is to make sure every patient and visitor has the most stress free and comfortable visit possible and for us, our key achievement is to succeed in this with care, humour, and compassion. We see that as our job done well. What improvements are planned for the future?
We have recently upgraded our stretchers and chairs and this will make a huge difference. We are always looking for better ways to transfer patients and better equipment will mean we are always improving patient experience.
