Confidentiality

Whenever somebody comes to CAMHS, the fact that you have been and what you have told us is kept private. This is also known as “confidentiality”.

When you first come to CAMHS you will be asked who you do and do not want to be told things about your visits. We shall not talk to anyone else outside our team without agreeing it with you first. The only exception to this would be if we are very worried about the safety or wellbeing of a young person or a family member. Then we do have to share our worries.  But, if this happens, we will always try and speak to you first. If you have any questions about confidentiality you can ask your CAMHS worker at any time.
