A housekeeping team at Weston Area Health NHS Trust has cleaned up at a national awards ceremony for cleaning professionals.
The Trust's Housekeeping Supervising Team was awarded the ‘Supervising Team Award’ at the Associate Healthcare Cleaning Professionals (AHCP) awards, which took place in Nottingham last week.
The top prize honours well supervised teams which deliver clean and maintained environments for patients.
Open to all NHS organisations, the awards recognise the talent and contribution made towards healthcare cleaning in the UK.
Sally Walsh, Housekeeping Manager at the Trust, said: “We’re delighted that our Housekeeping Supervising Team has been recognised with a national award.
“Keeping the hospital clean is an important role, and one we take extremely seriously. Our team work hard every day to deliver a hygienic and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
“The supervisory team also make sure they are on hand throughout the day to provide support and advice to staff, and they provide a tailored training programme which ensures our housekeepers are multi-skilled.
“We’re so proud of our Housekeeping Supervising Team, and of the contribution all our housekeepers are making to the Trust. To see the team being recognised in this way is really rewarding.”
