New Chief Executive for Weston Area Health NHS Trust



Weston Area Health NHS Trust is delighted to announce that it has appointed a new Chief Executive.

 

James Rimmer – currently Director of Strategy and Transformation at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust  will be joining the North Somerset Trust on Monday 3 August 2015.   

 

Speaking about his appointment, Grahame Paine, Chairman of Weston Area Health NHS Trust said:

 

 

“James (pictured above) is known as an individual with a broad strategic vision matched with a keen operational insight which I am sure will maintain Weston Area Health NHS Trust’s continued improving performance.

 

“He has enjoyed a long and very successful career in the NHS. His well developed network, especially across the south west region will put him in good stead as we continue to shape our Trust. The Board of Directors are very much looking forward to welcoming him into the organisation.”

 

Looking ahead to starting his role at Weston, James Rimmer said:

 

“I am delighted to be joining Weston Area Health NHS Trust and look forward to working with staff across the Trust to provide the best care for patients.

 

“I will continue to work alongside colleagues in health and social care to serve the people of Weston and North Somerset and look forward to working with all local stakeholders to take the Trust to the next stage of its development.”

 

Working in the NHS for over 15 years in both provider and commissioner roles, James has a Masters in Evidenced-Based Health Care from the University of Oxford and has completed the European Health Leadership Programme at INSEAD.

 

James replaces Nick Wood as Chief Executive. Nick is joining the Aneurin Bevan Health Board in Wales on the 6th July 2015.  Rob Little, Director of Finance will be Acting Chief Executive in the intervening period.
