Statement on car parking revenue

Jeff Legge, Head of Estates and Facilities at Weston Area Health NHS Trust, said: “The revenue generated over the last four years is gathered from parking charges to both patients and our 1,900 parking staff who work at the Trust.

“It costs around £100m a year to deliver all our services at the Trust. Parking revenue goes towards security, gardening and maintenance upkeep, as well as gritting during poor weather. It is also invested in new equipment, training and employing new nurses, or improving our facilities – which all directly benefit our patients.

“We offer one of the cheapest parking rates in the region and the first 30 minutes parking is free. To help our patients who have long standing health conditions or people who have loved ones in hospitals for longer stays we also offer a heavily discounted block booking of parking to help with the cost.
