Celebration of Success awards evening showcases Weston Area Health NHS Trust at its very best

In a night filled with pride and emotion, Weston Area Health NHS Trust’s fourth annual Celebration of Success awards evening showcased the Trust, its staff and volunteers at their very best. The event took place Friday, the 3rd of November, 2017 at Batch

The evening served as thank you from the Trust to staff and volunteers for their hard work, while the awards recognised those working both on the front line and behind the scenes for their outstanding patient care, dedication to the Trust and the wider NHS, as well as outstanding teamwork and support to colleagues. Winning teams and individuals were presented with excellence awards in the form of trophies and certificates after being nominated by colleagues.

“The awards ceremony celebrates the approach, conduct and professionalism of everyone who works in the Trust.” Sheridan Flavin, Director of Human Resources, said. “We know that all our staff and volunteers strive to do a great job.”

The award winners received high praise for their dedication and efforts. One was described as “a person who has a selfless attitude that goes above and beyond the call of duty,” while others were noted for working “tirelessly to ensure a high-quality service for our patients and carers.” Another award winner was cited as being someone who “encourages and pushes forward the best environment and ways of working for the whole team,” while yet another was praised for being someone whose office door “really is ‘always open’ and is always available to discuss any concerns or worries that team members may have.”

Weston General Hospital’s Scanner Appeal took a prominent role, both due to its success over the past year and its place as the evening’s chosen charity. JC Events held a disco, and the hospital’s own Sliding Scales Choir also performed. Both generously donated their fees to the Appeal, for which approximately £350 was raised on the night. The awards evening also featured a video which highlighted Trust achievements, innovations and community support over the last twelve months.

Trust Chief Executive James Rimmer added: “Our staff at Weston Area Health NHS Trust continue to accomplish great things that have a profound impact on people’s lives, despite the pressures and challenges faced by the NHS. I’m extremely proud of the talented, hardworking staff and volunteers we have here at Weston. These awards are our way of thanking and recognising those who go the extra mile to provide outstanding patient care and help make the Trust a better place to work for all of us.”
