Sarah Oakwood an Admiral Nurse (dementia specialist) at Weston General Hospital has been selected as a finalist for the Dementia Nurse Specialist / Dementia Lead category in the National Dementia Care Awards 2019.
Sarah was nominated for the Dementia Nurse Specialist / Dementia Lead Award. She is the only nurse working in an acute hospital to be nominated in this category.
Reacting to the news, Sarah Oakwood said: “It was an absolute honour to be nominated, so to get through to the finals feels incredible. It’s so important that we continue to focus on the needs of people living with dementia, their families and the staff who work with them, I hope that this can help raise the profile.”
Winners of the National Dementia Care Awards will be presented with their trophies at the high profile Gala Night held on Thursday 7th November at Doncaster Racecourse attended by over 400 guests.
