Somerset Surgical Services

Your Health, Our Priority

Somerset Surgical Services is an independent provider of NHS care based within Weston General Hospital. Using a patient centred approach we offer a wide range of surgical and medical treatments which support and enhance the services already offered locally at Weston General Hospital including Spinal Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology and Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery.

Somerset Surgical Services make a significant contribution to sustaining local NHS services as donating to a number of local charities, as chosen by their staff.

High quality care

All of our Surgeons hold a substantive NHS post and are registered with the General Medical Council. Our clinical team are all specialists in their field of practice and pride themselves on delivering first class patient care.

We aim to provide short waiting times for outpatient appointments and theatre procedures and have excellent RTT (referral-to-treatment) performance against National standards. Advanced surgical procedures and bespoke treatment plans allow streamline management of care pathways which are co-ordinated by designated administrators.

Facilities and locations

SSS deliver outpatient services from Weston General Hospital and at outreach locations including Harbourside Family Practice in Portishead and Mendip Vale Medical Practice in Langford. All surgery is undertaken in the theatres within Weston General Hospital; these fully equipped facilities allow us to provide excellent clinical care throughout the treatment pathway. We have full access to the immediate on-site back up of Intensive Care and High Dependency Units provided at Weston General Hospital.
