DrDoctor

We are working with one of our digital solutions provider, DrDoctor, to enable our patients to stay up to date with communications about their appointments and care using a digital portal.

What is DrDoctor?

A digital patient engagement platform. This is a secure online site where you can view information about your appointments and complete online forms about your healthcare, sent by our outpatient services.

SMS text notifications are sent to the contact number held in our records from the following phone numbers:

  • 07860 039092
  • 447860 039092
  • 447860039092

To log into the DrDoctor portal, visit Drdoctor.thirdparty.nhs.uk/UHBW. This takes you to the login page for DrDoctor provided on behalf of the Trust, where you will need to identify yourself to log in using your details or your NHS log in. What are we using DrDoctor for?

This is an ongoing initiative, which started with video consultations, appointment reminders and video links in 2022.

Since January 2023, we have also been using this platform to ask a 'quick' question to particular groups of patients. This may be to support patients on a waiting list or to ask if a patient is happy to be seen at an alternative location by an NHS contracted service.

We have begun using DrDoctor to send out assessments prior to appointments. Digital assessments are structured questionnaires that support patients to explain how they are managing their condition and establish a baseline to develop clinical management plans. If you are unable to access online forms, we can still arrange for the information to be collected by another method, either by phone or on paper, if you contact the clinic on the number provided.

From September 2023, we will work in partnership with DrDoctor to send text notifications inviting patients to go paperless and download and read their appointment letters digitally in the DrDoctor portal. This will give patients instant access to their appointment information, saving time, and cost in printing and posting letters. For more information about this service, including how to opt out, visit the Digital Letters page.

In the future, we plan to offer patients the ability to use the DrDoctor portal to request and reschedule their appointments.

What should I do if I don't want to receive information online?
